If your area has a Faith in Action group, call them. They provide rides to appointment and other places. You'll need to register ahead of time and be approved.

Do you have a senior center near you? The senior center where I live offers classes on now to get on public transport here and get to the closest VA hospital they go over how to pay how to use the app the line color the stops etc. and when they get to the VA they escort them to the "main entrance" which is confusing to many of the seniors that use the VA. The senior center also works with the public transport system here to get seniors to the nearest bus stops to the major hospitals and medical buildings.

Call your County Office of Aging and see if they provide Senior Bussing. The Redcross may have drivers. If on Medicaid they supply transportation.

I would check with your own clinic first of all. Other than Uber and Lyft, and other providers (both have programs for elders so call and check; you may get reduced cost) I don't know of a lot. On our own San Francisco NextDoor we have many providers willing to provide service by the hour to take elders to tasks, appointments. They come with quite the cost, minimums of 50.00 an hour aren't unusual.

Some hospitals, such as Kaiser, will help you to hook up with transit whether with their help or city auspices. San Francisco has good paratransit.

This is something you might start exploring on apps and through your own local council on aging. I wish you lots of good luck. Hope you will update what you find that's best for your own area.

Contact your states Department of Transportation and request the application for the paratransit services.

In Tucson this also sets you up to receive discounted taxi ride vouchers.
