No, it is best to see a neurologist if you suspect you have this disease. The symptoms can mimic other neurological diseases. Sometimes a diagnosis is difficult to achieve. There are medications to help if you have this disease and your response to the drugs often indicate if you actually have the disease.

My father had Parkinson's and he never had the hand tremors but a difficulty with balance. He also had a very ridge gait, or walk.

Please seek medical help if you suspect you have this. Good luck to you.

It sounds to me like you're looking for a test to see if you will develop PD later on? Not only is there no test to see if you are likely to get it later, there's no definitive test (such as blood test) to determine if you have it now. My husband developed micrographia, which is fairly unique to PD so that's how we originally suspected what the neurologist confirmed.

James, balance is controlled in the inner ear. Maybe seeing an ENT would help.
