This will vary.
Call agencies in your area, care.com, Visiting Angels and etc.

If you are wishing to contact sponsors on this particular site, or advertisers, then go to the bottom of the page and access what sort of care you are interested in.

Care will vary widely in cost not only according to skill set and to needs and requirements, but to whether you use an agency (which normally vets and insures their workers) or you hire someone working on his or her own.

Every area is going to be different. I bet what is paid per hour in New York is different than a smaller town in Mississippi or in Chicago or LA.
Call a few places in your area and ask what the cost is per hour.
NOW add to that what care is needed.
If it is "companion" care, and the person is incontinent the cost will be less than a caregiver that is needed for someone that is fully dependent on a caregiver for ADL's. And if the person needs medication or wound dressing changed the cost is higher yet.
AND the cost is different if you go through an agency or hire privately.
And the cost is different if you need 24 hour care.
There are programs that can help with expenses.
A little more info would be nice.

Inhome care is ridiculously expensive, more than a facility. I wish I had the money to do inhome but just cannot afford it.
