My husband is in the so-called moderate stage of Alzheimer’s also vascular dementia. He can become very paranoid, not trusting anyone. He also gets very angry and verbally abusive. Which is very difficult to deal with. I’m also physically disabled which doesn’t help. His behaviour although I know he can’t help it is now affecting my health! He will not except any outside intervention, professional carers or attend any group sessions. He only wants me. Please if there is anyone else who has experienced this. How did you deal with this?

Im so sorry u r having to go thru this. I'm not going thru it, but from what I've read paranoia is a symptom. Can u just hire a part-time home health aide and just explain to him that u CANT do it alone? Just tell him how its affecting your health! I hope u get a better response:)

It might be a good idea to 'break down', even if it's an exaggeration. Then tell him that if he won't accept a carer, you will be unable to cope and he will have to go to a facility. Get out of the way when he gets angry, repeat as necessary, and leave him to think it over. Good luck!

Are you in the UK, Ty? Whereabouts, if you don't mind my asking?
