It sounds like you are severely depressed and need help. Why don't you call your doctor tomorrow and make an appt.? Maybe anti depressants are in order or if you're on them, an adjustment. Have you thought about seeing a counselor? It's hard to take that first step, it was for me, but you can't go on feeling so sad and hopeless. I'm sure you're on overload too. Good luck and please let us know how you're doing.

Sarahalana, when depression is this persistent and intense fixing it is not a do-it-yourself project. It may have started out as a reaction to your home situation but now it is also a chemical imbalance in your brain. I suggest both talk therapy about your home situation and medication to get your chemistry back in balance. Please see a doctor as soon as possible -- there is no value in putting help off.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I ended up on antidepressants last year, but at least I'm not crying the grocery store anymore.

Thanks for the advice guys, I swear I wasnt a crying person but now I feel like I just cant deal...Recently I got to get away for a week, which is very rare..and I was at a store sitting outside waiting for my cousin and I was listening to music and I just all of a sudden cut the music off and broke down in tears It lasted for about 15 minutes luckily I was alone, and after that I felt down for about 30 minutes or so, and then I was fine...I cant explain the event but it really scared me..Ive thought about counseling and therapy but with my financial status at home I really cant afford it, Im not old enough for medicare, theres nothing physically wrong with me and I dont have children so I dont qualify for medicaid and no job so I cant afford insurance , so Im screwed...

If you are in a large Metropolitan Area (I'm not) there are usually non-profit support groups that might have resources and emotional support. And maybe your church? Hang in there... Your emotions aren't unusual or weird, and to be expected.

My heart goes out to you - you are so very young to be going through all this. If you are unable at this time to afford therapy, try calling Elder Services in your town and ask to speak to a social worker or an advisor and they can hopefully guide you in the right direction. Most have therapy groups and you would be with others who may have similar problems with regard to the caretaking.

The depression needs to be addressed by a psychiatrist and perhaps they could direct you to a clinic or such that will not cost a lot of money.

Most of us on this forum are much older than you and you are just starting out in life and need some guidance for your future. Blessings to you and take care.
