My grandmother in law for about a year has been suffering from different medical issues but refuses to be seen by a medical professional. It started with bells palsey which with a cat scan a tumor was located in her head near the ear. Nothing has been done with this. Since then she states her siatica nerve has been acting up and can barely walk but still drives using her hands to work her leg on the peddles. How do I get her to see or be seen by someone?

Oh my, no she should NOT be driving. They need to remove the car immediately. They can tell her she can drive when the Neurosurgeon clears her for driving. That may motivate her to see the MD. A temporal lobe tumor will affect speech, memory and walking. She could easily kill someone.

I don't think it's safe to be drivin either but my husband and I live a little more than an hour away. Even her husband that let's just say has a serious heart condition, believes she should see a doctor. If she was basically causeing no harm to anyone other than her I believe it is her choice to see a doctor. However, not only does driving effect many people I believe she is helping her husband into the grave.

there is a form that the dr. can sign for you in n.y. state anyways that would take away driving priviliges from this accident waiting to happen. I had a client who had this done because she was looking for the ignition in the trunk. my mom said she quit driving because when they worked on her car they took the gas pedal out[didn't but she said they did couldn't find it] you can laugh...lol..maybe that will give incentive to get things taken care of..talk to the person about this and maybe the loss of this important freedom will work.
