How can I heal a very stubborn 'pressure area. It just the first layer skin now. grandma got this a year ago while hospitalized after a hip break. It was actually open and draining. With the Home health nurse help we got all that cleared up and the skin was pink but that only lasted a few weeks and now it's red and very tender. It on her bottom just at the top of her buttocks. She stays dry and while in bed she on her side most the time. She does sit up in her wc usually all day. I always cover it when we go out in case she does get wet. I've put everything I know on it.
Good Luck to you!
Hap
I'd send you a link but the website will delete it but you can google it to read about it.
Hope this helps.
Baby, make a habit of Googling everything, like "coping with bed sores" or "pressure sores." It'll connect you with links where you can get the answers to just about anything. If I give you some links, they'll be deleted as it seems I'm advertising -- which isn't allowed in this forum.
Also, have you ever thought of letting air get to these sores instead of keeping them covered all the time? In my experience, air exposure helps them heal a lot quicker. Your grandma might be showing her booty a little bit, but believe me she'll be grateful.
Always at your service,
