If I can't find a poster's most recent answer or comment to a thread, I need to leave this site.
I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find an OP's comment to a question.
I'm leaving and this is why. I can't spend time scrolling through endless posts.
One other thing I'd like to see is the ability to report a post -spam or inappropriate language - directly from my news feed instead of having to go to the thread where it was posted.
I BET IT DOES :)
Then later you can cataagorize it (I think).
UNDER BOOKMARKS ON THE TOP LINE, SCROLL down 1 line and IT SAYS:
BOOKMARK THIS PAGE !!!
On this site, I pick and choose a topic I want to read, and if I feel like, sorry about this, I more often than not respond, mostly willie nillie, not offering great advice, but try to give some kind of advice while I am trying to get something off my chest.
I Thank this site for being around. I freaked out when I though Captain jumped overboard... He is around :)
CWillie, Countrymouse, etc...
Anyway to BookMark the page, so you can go back and grab that thread you want to look at again? TRY TO BOOKMARK IT ON YOUR COMPUTER.
Roaming around this website looking for something is good brain exercise :)
[I re-posted this because I realize it is hard to find a new post when it is mixed in with an older answer posting. The website Next Door has the same format].
Replying to your message below, with thanks.
I get it.....this site can be annoying and not the easiest to navigate. Hopefully admin. smoothed some feathers.....and we will continue to benefit from your insight.......Be well, my friend.
I spent the entire time from initiation of the strike to the aftermath either following it online or on tv, and couldn't relax until determination was made that no Americans were injured.
These are trying times, for more reasons than that. I recommend a day with your grandchildren, or wandering in a museum or flower market or something very relaxing. Me, I'm ordering garden catalogues.
I hope today is more restful for you and your family and for all those who were stressed to the max worrying about the missile strikes and the preceding action.
Boggleheads, I love that site too, and should spend more time over there, as one can always use their helpful information on finances and investments.! At a time when we all need to get our financial house in order, I have seen some pretty useful stuff on that one. In fact, this is the year that my husband and I are planning to save as much money as possible, just to challenge ourselves, and then hopefully invest that money somewhere to see how we do, it's actually pretty fun, and a welcome addition now that we are out of the Caregiver role and time to concentrate on ourselves for a change!
Good Luck with your investment portfolio, we can never prepare enough for our own old age, as we well know from hanging out here for so many years, lol!
Thanks to you all; at least the admins responded. I am on another financial support site (www.bogleheads.org) and the interface is SO much better, easier to navigate, etc. And it's an entirely volunteer-run site.
The fact that these folks are making money off our good advice is not sitting well with me right now, but I don't seem to be able to stop responding.....
I kept reading hoping to see if you posted again, and am so thankful you did! I'm also glad the admin came on and I hope they can make some technical changes.
I always want you to do what's best for you, but if you leave here don't be surprised if you see me suddenly hanging out at bogleheads ;)

Please don't leave! You have such wonderful insight into the problems of the elderly and give very helpful advice to all of us.
I also find the "Replies" part of the forum frustrating especially when the reply is to a comment/posting that is not one of the most recent postings. It might be better if the "Reply to" feature was removed and ALL postings were listed in chronological order. The person posting would have to say, "In response to _____'s comment on 01/04/2020: >>>>>>>". But maybe that would be better than what we currently have.
I also agree that some of the "Replies" are not helpful comments that attempt to clarify the poster's comment, but snide, catty, negative remarks about what the poster said.
Sometimes we need to take a break from a situation and I hope that is the only thing that you do...take a break. We really need your knowledge and insight and caring attitude on this forum. Please do not leave us forever, just for a little while. {{{HUGS}}}
The suggestion to include a link directly to the new reply is a good one. We will approach the idea with the tech team, as it is always our incentive to implement improvements for our members.
In answer to other questions, yes, there are Admins here. But it has always been our policy to loosely moderate the forum. We are all adults here, so while some posters might be more provocative than others, we do not censor posts by taste. Posts are only edited or removed in accordance with our comment policy. That said, personal attacks are always removed because caregivers are here for support. It is common practice on public forums to close the edit function after a period of time. Editing/deleting posts causes issues with continuity of a thread or historical context. Any concern about a post can be handled by contacting an admin directly with the "contact us" function or by email: kim.barnett@agingcare.com
Although you have pointed out frustrations with the workings of the site, you are all providing what was intended in the creation of the forum- answers and support for other caregivers. Especially after a stressful holiday season, large numbers of caregivers who are struggling find this site. Every day your interactions with them provide solace. We sincerely thank you for helping others who are in need and appreciate the important role you are providing in the lives of other caregivers.
We receive a notice of a post by someone, on our own news feed. It is not stated if it is a reply, or just an answer. We go looking for that person's post on that thread we may be following. It is irritating because we cannot find it.
A part of the problem I have experienced is this:
THERE IS A DELAY POSTING IT ON THE ACTUAL THREAD! MINUTES MAYBE. THE NEWS FEED POSTS FIRST!.
So, maybe waiting, then scrolling through the many posts on a thread.....
just as ridiculous, and I have given up finding replies altogether.
In the New Year of 2020, time is short!
Maybe the Admins can fix the problems?
