Glucos153,hert rate ok, bp good. No temp. When this happend last april, the hospital called it vertigo. I do not understand. This just comes on at a random time and he cannot walk and he has no strength at all for basically for 1 - 2 days. He is 85 and in fairly good shape type 2 diabetic. I am certain of his daily meds. How can vertigo stop a persons muscles from functioning? How can it send him into such a debilitating state that he cannot move without falling? I Know, old age, but ... But... But...... It just doesn't make sense to me.
My understanding of vertigo is that it involves a loss of the sense of balance and is often a function of the inner ear. There are medications that can help and also a form of specialized "vestibular" physical therapy that has been successful. I would talk to his regular doctor about sending him to a neurologist for examination.
I'd take him back for further investigations; and meanwhile install a good, stout bed rail and get him to practice sitting upright until he is confident of his balance before he attempts to get out of bed.
