He has macular generation. He fell in his house three months ago. Living along is not a healthy or safe place. Doctors in the hospital ordered p.t. In a facility. He is now permanent resident there. Some days his mind is fine. Others not well. Since being admitted to assisted living. He strips down and goes back to bed. No lights on. Today, the aides got him dressed three times by lunch. At home he dressed himself every day. Slept in the nude for years.
Any suggestions or ideas why this behavior?

rib4me, from your post it sounds like your Dad is having memory issues which is normal at his age. I found this informative article here on Aging Care about Alzheimer's which can also be used for dementia. Read through it and see if any of the stages resemble what your Dad is doing.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest he may be depressed over the changes in his health and his life. He wants to stay in bed, but is being forced to get up and get dressed. The reason he strips is because he has always slept in the nude.

I'd tell the doctor and ask for a mental health evaluation.
