These are not the kind nurses and social workers I have worked with years ago. I have been told the insurance company is putting undue pressure on them causing to make unnecessary demands on the proxy. They demand family meetings within less than 24 hrs. If I refuse the family meeting will the insurance discharge my mother from her current short-term rehabilitation unit or could I call the insurance company directly to report violations and get my mother out of there.

You have every right to call Medicare and Moms supplement. Be aware that if Medicare feels Mom is not progressing or had hit a plateau, Mom will be discharged to home. You can appeal with Medicare.

You asked this info in your prior post. Please stay within that post. It gets confusing when there is more than one post asking the same question. It may take a while for you to get responses because we are an international forum. Most members are in the US but in different time zones with jobs.

I would ask the hospital how you can address the medical ethics committee, and then make as clear and detailed case as you are able to them. I wish you good luck.
