Find Care & Housing
If the leak is outside of the house one would think that would be the responsibility of the gas company. Or is the leak inside of the house?

As you probably already know, home ownership is a never ending array of repairs. It feels good to own your own place, but if the costs of future repairs is outside of your budget, now may be the time to think of other residential possibilities.

Check with your local government agency (city, county, etc.). They have programs that help with the emergency repairs. The line up to the meter from the street is the gas company's problem. From the meter to the house is the homeowner's problem. If it has been red tagged, it is the responsibility of the homeowner.
