For those who enjoy classical music and/or are searching for an event hopefully more soothing than the disturbing photos that have been aired on tv for the last several days, you might want to check out whether your local PBS stations are broadcasting this evening's 911 program:

From the Metropolitan Opera: performance of Verdi's Requiem. In my area, it will be at 8 p.m. tonight.
As an added delight, Misty Copeland will be the host from an offsite area. If you're a ballet fan and have seen her dance, you might want to watch for that reason as well.

Misty Copeland is fabulous. She is beautiful and a beautiful dancer. And I think she got my share of legs (LOL)

Darn, darn, darn!

I would have loved to see that!

I did find that it can be streamed later today.

We forgot it was on and missed the first 40 minutes, but it was spectacular--not just the music but also the interspersed images from the 911 memorial in NY, etc. I've had the privilege of being in a choral group which performed this twice over the years I was in the group. Even though I'm not a religious person, this is one of the pieces that is truly an uplifing and awe-inspiring experience to perform.
