After reading a particular response, nothing will change until I take action. As hard and heartbreaking it will be, I am calling 911 the next time my Mom is physically violent with me!!!!!
If that's the only way I/she can get help, so be it!

Yes, this is something you need to do.

Like I tell everyone, don’t announce you are going to call 911. And don’t threaten it if you aren’t going to do it.

Just quietly go in the other room and call. It will be a surprise when they show up. Good luck.

I am personally so very glad this is your decision.
Your mother needs help. Will all this be pleasant for her or for you? No, of course not. There is no real path to "good and easy" in all of this. It is difficult and painful and hard. It is worth mourning and grieving and fearing" but that doesn't change that it is here and it
MUST BE DEALT WITH.
Good luck. I hope you'll update us.

You can stay with your original thread if the same subject. Its like having a conversation with us. You can answer each reply and update. No need to start a new thread to answer our questions. Under each response is a "reply to ______" This is easier for us to follow your story.

When a caregiver is put in the position of caring for a violent person it can be dangerous for both.
If mom hurts YOU how will you care of her if she you are injured or worse.
There are medications that can help with agitation, anxiety but they do come with problems themselves. They can make a person more of a fall risk. And in some cases it can take a bit of time to get the right dose and the right medication. (and some people with certain conditions can not take some of the typical meds used)
Talk to mom's doctor about this.
DO not be afraid or embarrassed to call 911.
