Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. APFM does not (and may not) require or even ask consumers seeking senior housing or care services in Washington State to sign waivers of liability for losses of personal property or injury or to sign waivers of any rights established under law.I agree that: A.I authorize A Place For Mom ("APFM") to collect certain personal and contact detail information, as well as relevant health care information about me or from me about the senior family member or relative I am assisting ("Senior Living Care Information"). Medline Remedy lotions/creams. Medline Remedy Phytopiex Skin Protectant Paste or Remedy Olivamine Calazime are good for rashes caused by urine or stool. Also, the Remedy Olivine Skin Repair cream was recommended to me by the doctor at a wound care clinic to help my mom with skin tears. It is the best lotion I've ever used. Smells good too.
Thanks everyone. Yes, dad did see a dermatologist, he is diabetic and not incontenant. It is a yeast type of thing we have been told. He has been sleeping without pants for about 4 months. I feel that the fluconase ointment always keeps it wet and in my mind, defeating the whole yeast issue. He showers every other day and the dermatologist said not to wash the area in the non shower days. He does wear depends shields but most days it is dry. I am going to do some research, thanks for all the helpful info. Didn't know about diabetes and yeast infections.
i agree with Lolli50 - admittedly i was surprised to see someone else used it! We've used it for years: "Butt Paste". It's also available at CVS. It helps to heal, not just act as a water / chaffing barrier. VERY soothing - whether the problem is due to diarrhea, acidity / loose bowel movements or 'chaffing'. It truly has been more effective than any zine oxide based products, or even vaseline. Very much worth a try.
Any ointment with at least 40% zinc oxide in it will do the trick. Great stuff. Talc is only good when he's "airing out" but balls up when covered and he starts sweating. the zinc oxide will create a barrier and the urine or sweat won't hurt his skin. If he is in bad shape, wash the area, dry it, and put a heat lamp on it for 20min at a time several times a day to dry it out and heal it. In between the heat treatments use the zinc oxide for the barrier. He'll be in fine shape in no time.
The key to the calazime paste is to apply very sparingly. When you use too much it makes it worse. My hubby seems to be allergic to plastic backed surfaces, like diapers, pull ups and disposable pads . If I stick to cottonand use the calizine paste he doesn't get the rash or fungus or whatever it is.
I'd like to add a statement to my earlier comment, sandy70, the yeast thing you're talking about might get some help from the women's aisle. There are several ointments for a yeast infection for women. Look on the aisle in the grocery store and see which ones over pericare for women and deals with yeast infection specifically. You should find an ointment there that would help but just don't let your husband see that you're using "women's vaginal yeast med". lol It might not set well with him and he may not let you use it. Men are funny about some things. It the med turns out to be a douche, I'm sure it would be ok to take a sponge or clean cotton cloth and wash his area with the liquids. Put the douche med in a bowl and just bathe him with it, then rinse and dry with either a soft cloth or heat lamp. That should help as well.
