Agree with Jessie! Do you have an oximeter at home, the fingertip kind that measures oxygen saturation?

She may need nebulizer treatments.

If the antibiotics haven't cleared the infection in 6 weeks, then they are not the right ones or there is something else going on with her lungs. An antibiotic should have worked within 2 weeks if it was the right one. I hope they can find one that works. Did they tell you what type of infection it is?

Thanks. It's the third occurrence, Mom is 82 and much weaker than before. Been on Meds 6 weeks, very little improvement. Back to the specialist this week, will check in with any news after that appt.

What do you need to know. Coughing and sputum does go along with lung infections. The cough can be so bad that it wears a person out. I hope the antibiotics clear the infection soon.
