Who ordered this type of bed and how long has your Mom used it?

You need to check with Medicare and Medicaid as to whether they are paying for or are willing to pay for this type of bed in the facility that your Mom is in.  It is possible that Medicare paid for the bed while your Mom was classified as a "Skilled Rehab", but then Medicare (or Medicaid) might not pay for the bed once your Mom is classified as "Long Term Care/Nursing Home Resident".

Did her doctor order the bed? Was it ordered through Medicare? Is she on hospice? Hospice will order a mattress like this and you will not be charged.

Sounds llike a lot. You maybe able to purchase one of your own. You wil, need to call Medicare to see if they will cover it. You will be able to purchase thru a durable equipment store. Check her suppliment too.

Going to call tomorrow and ask all the question. I am Thinking is is a short term cost that should have been charge to medicare.

It is a lot! It the cost of a new car, for a air mattress (Being over simplistic)

Today one does not know with medical! I had a prescription order for 90 pills cost was $12,000 if you bought name brand $6 if generic:(
