When to move to a memory unit assisted living: Quality of Life is the question for a person with declining memory loss. The goal is not longevity, it's quality. Would the person consider their life quality now if they could be reflective? Is the person doing unsafe things? Is the person unhappy? Is the person roaming outdoors and getting lost? Is the person high functioning enough, and safe enough, enjoys at least one person in traditional assisted/independent living, is sensitive to more declined residents, enjoys their own company, is not a joiner, is open to hiring a private aide for short check ins during the week if needed. There's a lot to consider when uprooting someone. Metrowest Eldercare Management
