Find Care & Housing
You claiming her on your taxes has absolutely no impact on her Medicaid eligibility. Medicaid goes solely by her income. (And assets if you are at long term care). If you were able to claim her as a dependent than her income is most likely low enough to make her eligible for Medicaid.

Thank you so much for your input. I feel much better .....
Her chemo isn’t covered by Medicare and so expensive. She was denied QMB however.... missed that by $7.00 :(
she is $46 under the limit for Medicaid and still denied. I appealed and am waiting for response. I just happened to think maybe my claiming her in 2018 could have been the issue. I just want to give her the best treatment options I can.

Wow. I would ask a good tax person or an elder law attorney. Someone like Cali who is really versed in a lot about medicaid might know, but I sure do not. You could also call and ask I would think. Good luck. Hope you will let US know the answer. Wishing your Mom peace and relief of pain; so sorry about this diagnosis.
