Medication, Depression. Vision,

I was told you don’t get paid if your a spouse you can hire a caregiver to help you through IHSS if insurance covers or through private insurance . I take care of my boyfriend who had a massive stroke 2 years ago I get paid through IHSS but the social worker told me it’s good we weren’t married or I wouldn’t get paid .

You could get a job outside the home and use the money to pay a caregiver to care for your spouse. Being caregiver for a spouse can be a miserable job. Some people prefer not to do it, and that's one way around it.

Or do what most of us do - be a care slave. But do it with love. :-)

If your spouse is on Medicaid they might pay you to care for them for a few hours a week, or even if they are a veteran, the VA too offers some assistance for a caregiver.
However as a spouse who cared for her spouse for 24 1/2 years of our 26 year marriage, I have to say that I never once felt like I should be "paid" as I was doing what most spouses do when the other gets sick and that is take care of them in sickness and health till death do us part. But maybe that's just me.
