I would assess the layout of the apartments and try to decide which will be easier to age in from the standpoint of losing mobility. Which apartment is better suit for someone who uses a walker or wheel chair. Additionally, I would think about what kind of services he will be receiving while there. If he is getting his meals prepared, for example, I would not think he needs as large or functional a kitchen to worry about. Larger apartments ultimately are more work to keep clean, clutter free and maintain.

A senior's mobility is the first thing you should think about. I think a studio apartment has more space and more conveniences.

Get the studio. Conserve his assets for the long haul.
