I live in a different state than my family member that is a resident in a long -term facility. I am legal guardian, with that said, at the facility there is a CNA that enjoys taking walks, playing bingo (at facility) and goes with my family member on outings for emotional support. I am grateful for her, but the facility is frowning on the idea? Any suggestions??? Is this wrong, I live 3000 miles away.

Find Care & Housing
When CNA’s have a day off, it should be a day off to decompress from their job. If CNA gets hurt on a family outing, who’s responsible? If family member gets hurt, is CNA responsible? If other Residents families hear about this will they too want the same treatment? CNA’s can be accused of having favorites at work and that doesn’t go over well with Residents families.
