A good night's sleep, chocolate, the happiness and satisfaction of sharing on AgingCare forum. Does anyone have some favorite things to think about? Yes, this phrase is from the song in the movie "The sound of Music". My husband and I often resort to using movie lines and song to improve communication. We were the only two in a gathering of people who heard the background music playing. We both had the same (cassette tape/CD). A connection bringing two people together. To this day, we crack up when one uses a simple movie line to make a serious point.
SO, What is one of your favorite movie line, some of your favorite things?
How about one with white cake and icing, decorated with strawberries and blueberries instead?
Remembering her hobby as the "cake lady", beautiful cakes.
I remember a lot of the "old-time" members of the forum.
Sentimental holidays bring it out of me.
Happy Territory Day! 🇦🇺
Fireworks in So. California are illegal unless performed by professionals, and it will be sad when a fire is started by those not following the local laws. Hoping Australia is safe from further ravages of fires. I am content with the patriotic songs.
Of historical interest, God Save The Queen was the National Anthem until 1984 in Australia. (finding similarities in the tunes we sing/sang/song.)
It's Canada Day up Canada way on the first day of July.
And we're shoutin' "hooray" up Canada way, when the maple leaf flies high.
When the silver jets from east to west go streaming through our sky.
We'll be shoutin' "hooray" up Canada way when the great parade goes by.
O Canada, standing tall together!
We raise our hands and hail our flag;
The maple leaf forever!
It's Canada Day up Canada way, on the coast of Labrador.
And we're shoutin' "hooray" up Canada way on the wide Pacific shore.
People everywhere have a song to share on Canada's holiday.
From Pelee Island in the sunny south to the North Pole far away.
O Canada, standing tall together!
We raise our hands and hail our flag;
The maple leaf forever!
It's Canada Day up Canada way, when the long cold winter's done.
And we're shoutin' "hooray" up Canada way for the great days yet to come.
Where maple trees grow maple leaves, when the Northern sun is high.
We're Canadians and we're born again on the first day of July.
O Canada, standing tall together!
We raise our hands and hail our flag;
The maple leaf forever!
It's Canada Day up Canada way, from the lakes to the prairies wide.
And we're shoutin' "hooray" up Canada way on the St. Lawrence river side.
People everywhere have a song to share on Canada's holiday.
From Pelee Island in the sunny south to the North Pole far away.
O Canada, standing tall together!
We raise our hands and hail our flag;
The maple leaf forever!
We raise our hands and hail our flag;
The maple leaf forever!

Happy Canada Day!
All love and respect to my Canadian friends. 💞💖💞
Here, you can help the younger Canadians celebrate in song.
God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.
Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign.
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen.
You are a blessed people!
After all the whining about pandemic restrictions for the last 2 years when pretty much everything is lifted we get nothing but free swimming at the pool today and fireworks at 10:00 (yeah no, that's past my bedtime).
To paraphrase someone on the town's Facebook page "wow, they went all out" 🙄
Enjoy your celebration! What is more enjoyable than a walk passing a church with patriotic music? 🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day!
The tune of "God Save The Queen" is also the National Anthem, Royal Anthem, and Imperial Anthem of 15 countries, kingdoms, empires, and federations.
Here in the U.S.A. we sing : "My Country Tis of Thee": 🇺🇸
to the same tune.
1831 - 1931
written by Samuel Francis Smith
My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring!
My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above.
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our fathers' God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom's holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King.

Serenity Now! As Frank Castanza said!
I kinda wonder how many people younger than I am know the words to God Save the Queen, or even recognize the tune 🤔
Chocolate is my very favorite thing.
And the sound the internet makes when it was connecting to e-mail-way back when...
It is today. Squeaked Piglet. 🐷
My favorite day. Said Pooh. 🧸️
Was it Big Bear?
On the news.
Wishing for a cure, any cure for you.
There is no actual evidence for or against chocolate being a cure. So, you are right. Apologies.
I think that chocolate can cure pre-syncope Llama. Hoping you feel generally better, much better.
Everyday should be a chocolate day. I guess one could make that happen if you ate only one piece and savored it.
Chocolate is a favorite!
