I'm having a craving for crepes (or more accurately cheese blintz) for breakfast. Smothered with a strawberry rhubarb sauce. But they'd take too long to make and I'm hungry Right Now! I guess I'll have to make do with some cottage cheese and the last hot cross bun (sigh).

Where does one get a strawberry rhubarb sauce? Do you make it CWillie, and just have that stuff (rhubarb) lying around?

Today is the day the Lord has made! We can be glad and rejoice in it!

Some of my favorite things, some are just by memory because life just doesn't allow enjoyment of them much anymore - A beautiful sunset, my Mom's laughter and the twinkle in her eye when she teases me (still see this occasionally), my pups (shih tzu and two yorkies), doing nothing at all, watching a movie from start to finish with no interruptions, a good glass of wine, lunch or dinner out with friends, going out to a movie, puppy breath (yes, I said puppy breath), a clean house, quiet time doing yard work, shopping (or doing anything) with friends, travel, lemon anything, swimming, hot coffee, planning my own day and sleeping all night with no interruptions - oh I could go on all day, but I won't bore you! :)

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land
Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand
Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant
For one as beautiful as you
Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
A silver thorn, a bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
Now I think I know what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will

She only new a bit of each. That was my lullaby. Now I hear any of them ias background music shopping & I start yawning!

"A long, long time ago, I can still remember how that music used to make me smile...and I knew if I had the chance, I could make those people dance and maybe they'd be happy for awhile..."

I love that song! One of the most poetic and best written songs imo.

I'm listening to James Taylor - it's amazing how music can transport you to a time and place, I can almost feel myself back in the days when a sweet mellow song and a glass of canadian club were what got me through.

A James Taylor favorite! , Up on the Roof.

When this old world starts a getting me down
And people are just too much for me to face
I'll climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space
On the roof, it's peaceful as can be
And there the world below don't bother me, no, no.

The artists, not so much. Can not remember who sang what.
The songs, yes!

In Memory of Doris Day May 13, 2019

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty
Will I be rich
Here's what she said to me
Que será, será
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que será, será
What will be, will be
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows
Day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said
Que será, será
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que será, será
What will be, will be
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome
Will I be rich
I tell them tenderly
Que será, será
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que será, será
What will be, will be
Que será, será

Taking off flannel sheets, washing cotton sheets (they were washed in the fall, just like to rewash before putting on the bed) for summer and DD and grands coming next weekend, and finding, tangled up in the sheets folded in closet all winter, the missing matching washcloth that I knew was lost and thought maybe disintegrated in the wash or some such. Thought a visitor had taken it home, accidentally, but, no it is here. Maybe I will still find that missing box with nutella, soups and teas.😉 Maybe it is tangled up in a blanket or sheet somewhere yet.

Song Lyrics

Well I don't know why I came here tonight.
I've got the feeling that something ain't right.
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
and I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs.

Clowns to the left of me!
Jokers to the right!
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.

Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
and I'm wondering what it is I should do.
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face.
Losing control yeah I'm all over the place.

Clowns to the left of me!
Jokers to the right!
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.

Well you started off with nothing
and you're proud that you're a self-made man
yeah
and your friends they all come crawling,
slap you on the back and say
Please . . .
Please . . .

Trying to make some sense of it all
but I can see that it makes no sense at all.
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor?
I don't think that I can take anymore.

Clowns to the left of me!
Jokers to the right!
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight.
I've got the feeling that something ain't right.
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
and I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs.

Simple song.....

Make me a servant
Humble and meek
Lord let me lift up
Those who are weak
And may the prayer
Of my heart always be
Make me a servant
Make me a servant
Make me a servant today.
