A good night's sleep, chocolate, the happiness and satisfaction of sharing on AgingCare forum. Does anyone have some favorite things to think about? Yes, this phrase is from the song in the movie "The sound of Music". My husband and I often resort to using movie lines and song to improve communication. We were the only two in a gathering of people who heard the background music playing. We both had the same (cassette tape/CD). A connection bringing two people together. To this day, we crack up when one uses a simple movie line to make a serious point.
SO, What is one of your favorite movie line, some of your favorite things?
tonight, from start to finish.
Wheat fields coming into head and swaying in the wind
A big while bridal wreath spirea flanked by deep red peonies
The garden in May/June before the bugs and dry weather hit, when everything is lush and blooming and possibilities seem endless
My first coffee of the day.... good morning everyone!
That is quite a list, Cwillie!
Hope your day and others has some good garden time.
Are you growing the rhubarb yourself?
That kicked in a memory of my Mom cooking rhubarb pies when my siblings were young.
.
So happy to see you all here today as Sundays are pretty lonely with dH taking his afternoon naps, loooong ones.
"Spent 4 lonely days, in the brown L.A. haze..."
That describes the sky....how will anyone see any fireworks at all this year. It is bad. But I liked some
of his songs.
Quenching in the heat
Record Heat didn't bother the boys in blue this weekend
Wondering if he was receiving hazard pay, or just forgot to read the employee rights manual. So I bought him a 'cooling towel', will try to give it to him personally. Just as soon as walking to the mailbox is safe in 95.7° F heat. Darn, missed him today.
Israel Kamakawiwoʻole
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of
Dreams really do come true
Someday, I wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can't I?
Well, I see trees of green and red roses too
I'll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Well, I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
If only troubles did melt like lemon drops
So sorry that you are troubled, and I hope things turn around for you and your Mom.
Luckylu,
Sharing this special song: Mel Brooks. "I am wild about animal crackers".
You will go to bed laughing!

Lyrics
All the bitter weary ways
Endless striving day by day
You barely have the strength to pray
In the valley low
And how hard your fight has been
How deep the pain within
Wounds that no one else has seen
Hurts too much to show
All the doubt you're standing in between
And all the weight that brings you to your knees
He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
Let your burdens come undone
Lift your eyes up to the one
Who knows
He knows
We may faint and we may sink
Feel the pain and near the brink
But the dark begins to shrink
When you find the one who knows
The chains of doubt that held you in between
One by one are starting to break free
He knows
He knows
Every hurt and every sting
He has walked the suffering
He knows
He knows
