If I receive the "hello grandma" phone call, I am going to be so very happy (no matter who is calling!) that I will send the money all the way to Australia, all $20- of it. Cash!

I hope (whoever it is) gives me an address to mail it snail mail.

Hello, anyone? This is your REAL grandma! Really!

Several times I've recieved the "HELLO GRANDMA" scam call, and that is such a bunch of baloney! I tell them "my, you have a very deep voice for a 3 months old GIRL baby Grandson!", or some such ready reply, which usually does the trick.

We've had a lot of "suspicious phone calls here to our house since my FIL died. It's scary, and makes me worried to even leave our house! We've never had a break in here, but heck, 99% of the time in the last 13 years, there's been someone home with my FIL living with us, and now that is all going to be changing, now that we can begin living our lives again!

My husband is going to beef up our security system, and we are seriously thinking about changing our home number that we've had for 30 years or so, which is kinda sad, but if you even so much as looked up our Rare and unusual name in an Internet search, my telephone number, address and even more vital statistics come up since I've done some online heritage searching.

When my husband's Grandfather immigrated from Norway, and came through Ellis Island, and Immigration changed his last name, butchering it into "Americanized" version and spelling, and did a horrible injustice to their once beautiful last name, and nobody ever tried to change it back. I wished I had kept my Married name now as this one is truly hideous, Lol! I Loved my very British Maiden name, but I'm about 33 years too late to change things now!

I'm thinking that we will just get 2 cell phones, as that seems to be safer route to go, and will cut down on the unending nuisance, scam, telemarketer, stalker, and phoney Grandchildren calls we recieve Every Darn Day! I've tried to use the block call features that you can attempt, but they don't work, or I'm doing something wrong, and my little 5# Charlie-girl isn't much of a burglary deterrent, IYKWIM! She can be loud, but not much bite! Lol!

I hope you are all doing great, and I'm headed out to do some misbehaving with my sister now at the Casino, and will hopefully come back to report some Naughty Big Wins, later tonight!

One fun thing I'm about to do, is listen to an old 60's Comedy album with my sister on the way up, a record we used to play over and over again when I was a kid of the 60's. It's one of those naughty adult humor records of songs by a Jewish comedian, her comedy style was parody, "sung to the tune of" type humor, and she's hilarious, though her name is escaping me at this moment, and she was pretty obscure to the best of my knowledge. I ordered the record from Ebay, and had it put onto a CD, so this shall be a FUN drive up!

Ya'll have a great day! 😉😉

Veronica,
That has been my experience also. Ashley has always helped me.
I do have a few people who know me, and my anonymity used to be important to me, but no longer, because I am writing to my friends on here, and I need to be me! Except, maybe I am always being me anyway, a good brat.
Hoping that I have helped some people on here, because knowing them has helped me tremendously.
Yesterday, I threatened Book that if she didn't drink enough water, I would go get nurse Veronica and help administer fluids by IV. Lol. Were your ears burning?

Send when I can't log in I send an email to the admins and they have their IT people fix it. It has happened a lot to me.
I don't know but don't think that is why people change their screen names. for myself i would do it if i felt outsiders would be able to recognize me. When I first joined I was given a list of people in my area who belonged. Fortunately they no longer do this.

Seems to me there have been quite a few screen name changes, and I did that too when I could not login. So, I asked my husband, if I quit the forum and logged back in with a new screen name, what name would I use?
He replied: "Quitter".

Used to be our private aides would try to redirect  mom with a cookie 🍪 or dish of ice cream which she does still enjoy

But since we've discovered an odorless coconut 🌴 oil at sprouts they're now giving her little massages to soothe her along with little bite size Mounds candy bars

I'm not a coconut fan but I got her some coconut water to see if she likes it

Put the lime in the coconut and mix it all up

Veronica
Your caller hasn't honed his skill yet - he should have disguised his voice saying he broke his nose in an accident and needs help

Mom got this call several years ago and in true Viking fashion told the fraud to call his parents and hung up

Wow, I have read of an elderly scam like this Veronica.
You were supposed to say, "Michael, is that you?"
Then they have your grandson's name, and ask you to send money to far away.

You were so very uncooperative! Brat!

Had a phone call last night.
"Hello Grandma, how are you?
Hesitantly, "Who are You?"
Confused, "Your grandson"
"What's your name?"
"Michael, I am your grandson Michael Grandma" sounding a little worried now.
"I don't have a grandson called Michael You must have the wrong Grandma"

Turtles can be very fast.

"Three-toed box turtles are known to migrate seasonally in order to maintain their preferred humidity level. In Arkansas, three-toed box turtles were observed in grasslands in late spring, while in early spring, summer, and late fall they were found in forested areas.[11] During dry times, they dig shallow burrows into leaf litter to conserve moisture. When water is available, these turtles soak for longer periods of time than any of the other subspecies.[8]"

Maybe it is hiding in some moist leaves?

Luckylu, Well, they do after the racoons give it a try. NO, NO!
I think they mean it has 3 toes on each of it's four legs.
Why, how many should they have?
Are you sure you even saw a turtle named Yertle? Lol.

Yertle? Where did it go?

Box turtles are official state reptiles of four U.S. states. North Carolina and Tennessee honor the eastern box turtle.[21][22][23] Missouri names the three-toed box turtle.[24] Kansas honors the ornate box turtle.
So as the State reptile, they are 'protected'.

Tell that to the racoons....muah ha ha ha!

I'm not eating soup, but now I wish I was, lol! Mmmm...chicken tortilla soup!

Speaking of cake, my nasty in-laws have been visiting Dad (good times, gotta tell ya), and so last night after they left, I opened a bottle of wine, and sat down with a chocolate rum cake and a fork! Sooo good. I haven't been eating that much sugar lately, but I made up for it last night! And ya know what? I don't even care, lol! Worth it!!!

I'm off to find some soup...it was cold this morning!

P.S. How's Yertle?

P.P.S.  No, I didn't eat the whole cake.  Thought about it.  It's not a large cake.  ;)

Lol Ms.Madge, you are so bad!
It is okay Luckylu, no one is going to bake Yertle in a cake. Have some, it doesn't taste like a turtle at all, because it is a chocolate turtle cake.
How is Yertle today?

How are you today? Because I don't want to have to start another new thread entitled:
