Happy birthday CWillie!

Thanks for all the birthday greetings 🤗. I wish I could say I didn't look a day older but I've been letting the grey in my hair grow out plus I recently noticed that the forehead wrinkle you get when you raise your eyebrows seems to still be there when I lower them 🤔.

On a more positive note - did everyone have their pie yesterday?

Covid-19 has us all staying at home.
For married couples, things can get intense if he is not going to work. The first week can be like a honeymoon.
Then what?
This Taylor Swift song will help! I am sure of it! It is new to me, I have never heard her songs before.

Lyrics
How many days did I spend
Thinkin' 'bout how did me wrong, wrong, wrong
Lived in the shade you were throwin'
'Til all of my sunshine was gone, gone, gone
And I couldn't get away from you
In my feelings more than Drake, so yeah
Your name on my lips, tongue tied
Free rent, livin' in my mind
But then something happened one magical night
I forgot that you existed
And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn't
And it was so nice
So peaceful and quiet
I forgot that you existed
It isn't love, it isn't hate
It's just indifference
I forgot that you
Got out some popcorn
As soon as my rep starting going down, down, down
Laughed on the schoolyard
As soon as I tripped up and hit the ground, ground, ground
And I would've stuck around for ya
Would've fought the whole town, so yeah
Would've been right there front row
Even if nobody came to your show
But you showed who you are, then one magical night
I forgot that you existed
And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn't
And it was so nice
So peaceful and quiet
I forgot that you existed
It isn't love, it isn't hate
It's just indifference
I forgot that you
Sent me a clear message
Taught me some hard lessons
I just forget what they were
It's all just a blur
I forgot that you existed
And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn't
And it was so nice
So peaceful and quiet
I forgot that you existed
I did, I did, I did
It isn't hate, it's just indifference
It isn't love, it isn't hate
It's just indifference (so yeah)

Is Popcorn an essential item?
Are 'they' going to regulate how much snacking we can do at home?
Worried....
(1)
Report

Send,

No regulations on snacks! Eat all the popcorn 🍿 you like! Just don’t take away chocolate. It’s the only thing I rely on if I need to binge or stress eat. Dark chocolate! Not milk chocolate. Not white chocolate. Only dark chocolate! Wouldn’t it be fun to be a chocolatier?

Apparently Dollarama is an essential store - well yes, they do sells some grocery items - so I have not been cut off from my supply of chocolate bars, chips and candy. So far I've been able to resist the temptation.

Ok Sendhelp

I just noticed your new earrings. Too cute.

Oops you took them off. The TP caddy is also cute. I remember my Grannie had one. Hers was yellow.

Happy BD CWillie

Thanks 97Mom.
I was thinking of trying to hide some TP so I know when we are on our last roll. A TP Caddy, huh. Is that what they are called?

Maybe people who knit or crochet could be making some for gifts.
Ha Ha, can you imagine? Getting a nicely home made knitted caddy to hold the TP you don't have? Joke gifts.

Have you seen CWillie's new avatar? Rescue St. Bernard dogs with TP rolls around their necks. Too funny. I had to enlarge it to see the TP.

This is such a fun distraction. Years from now, the virus won't even be remembered, but the 2020 TP Crisis will be.

Maybe someone will invent a new product. We have a new 'Little Green Cleaning Machine.' Maybe that would work as a portable Bidet, with steam! Or not.

Gershun has mentioned a plan B on her avatar. What is PLAN B,
anyway?

Inquiring brats want to know.

Plan B could be just about anything Send. Every time I do my business in the bathroom now I look at the t p with a whole new appreciation. Who knew? Something we all took for granted is now the topic of conversation. Lol

We've been giving my sister a hard time for still going to work when her DH at home is at high risk, well today he was once again out and about shopping at multiple stores and running errands, this despite the fact they have enough hoarded food and supplies for years (and I do mean hoarded). Whatever, I should know by now there's no point trying to help stupid and stubborn😶.
(4)
Report

That’s a shame, cwille. You tried to encourage them to listen to reason. No one should be hoarding anything. It’s selfish and inconsiderate of others who need supplies too. And why is she still working? Is she required to work?
(1)
Report

It's complicated NHWM - sister is an extrovert, she truly needs her work, plus her job is in long term care so even though she doesn't deal with caring for the residents it is an essential service.
As for the hoard - both of them have a problem, with sis it is more like classic hoarding but with BIL shopping for food is one of his problems, we've had to throw out tons of expired food and the cupboards, fridges and freezers (yeah, more than one of each) are still jammed.

Cwillie, I wouldn’t bother trying to convince your sister not to go to work. You mentioned she is a essential employee so she needs to go to work, and her DH even though he is high risk, is out shopping and running errands.

Has anyone heard from Luckylu?

Oh, I see there are thunderstorms and tornadoes in her area, could have knocked out her internet again.

Prayers Luckylu, until we hear from you.

Yeah,I'm right here Send and thanks for the prayers~
It was a Mediacom man that acted VERY badly when he came last Friday to fix a wire he said and then he disconnected us and drove off, leaving us with no computer,no phone and no Tv for the last 4 days.
I'm used to bad storms and tornado's,but this Pandemic is mighty scary and to not be able to contact anyone or hear any news was about more than I could take.
I think the animals liked it though since they got all our attention.Anyway,we're ok and thanks~

Guessing no one has been bored yet. I am really surprised that I caved in to boredom so soon, today. No one else is just bored? 🐵🐒🙈🙉🙊

Send,

Sometimes. I think that is a very normal, human reaction. I feel a mix of emotions. I don’t think I could pinpoint exactly how I feel. It truly is a range of emotions, anywhere from boredom to concern.

I understand people having feelings of boredom. I do not understand a cavalier attitude. That’s totally different.

I have genuine concern but have not experienced panic. I know that I am following all of the regulations in place, therefore doing all that I possibly can.

I miss certain things. I suppose that leads to passing feelings of boredom. I am keeping my spirits up by having faith and hope in better days ahead.

I think there will be a silver lining in this horrible situation. It has brought forth and continues to bring forth compassionate behavior in many people.

I have to giggle when some of my friends call me and confess to wanting to smack their husbands. Too funny! I have heard some funny stories about clueless husbands.

Staying at home, NHWM, has brought all those pastors and servants at the many churches who have never had a Sunday at home with their families a time to be together on an Easter Sunday.
That in itself is a good reason for sacrificing a few Sundays at church, imo.

Yes, this is a special time, with special blessings. I hope that for you too. It will be good to watch the church services on t.v.

But I need to ask, what to wear? Will we be in our jammies, or get dressed up?
(2)

Guaranteed,I'll be in my pajama's and probably on the floor with my cats~

Report

Send,

Good point. There are ‘hidden’ blessings. I feel there will be lessons learned throughout this ordeal.

What to wear? Good question! I think I will get dressed. I don’t think Jesus will care, either way. I want to feel like it’s Easter morning even if the service will be in my living room instead of church.

The truth is that we the people are the church, not the physical building. Temples were very important, all houses of worship are beautiful and meaningful.

In the early days, services were held in homes just like we will be doing tomorrow. Well, there wasn’t television but it’s the same principle.

I feel that we will appreciate our Easter celebrations in a way that we haven’t before.

Lu.
good plan, jammies.

Ways to preserve our sanity:
1) Less news on T.V.
2) Less judging others.
3) Acceptance of ourselves and our emotions, or lack of emotions.
4) Get busy in the kitchen, distract ourselves.
5) Take a walk outside.
6) Write it all out, like a journal, but honestly.
7) Take a shower.
8) Focus on something other than ourselves.
9) Build, repair, or accomplish something.
10) Keep wild imaginings to a minumum.

I will be barefoot, or wearing sandals.
